terms

this site and our app are made by smallthing software limited. by using them you are agreeing to what follows, which we have tried to write the way we would say it.

what you can expect from us. we will keep the app working as well as we can, and we will be honest about what it does. we do not promise it will never be wrong, never be down, or suit every purpose - it is provided as it is, and you use your own judgement about what you do with what it tells you.

what we expect from you. use the app and this site lawfully. do not try to break, overload or pick the lock on them, and do not use them to harm someone else.

your data. we collect as little as we can, and what we do is set out on our privacy page. that page is part of these terms.

what belongs to whom. the app, this site, their code and designs are ours. anything you create with the app is yours.

if it goes wrong. we are a small company, so our liability to you is limited as far as the law allows - which never includes anything the law does not allow us to exclude. nothing here takes away the rights you have as a consumer where you live.

subscriptions. the app needs a subscription, which you buy through apple. payment is taken from your apple account when you confirm. it renews automatically each year unless you turn it off at least 24 hours before the renewal date, in settings → your name → subscriptions. you will see the price before you buy, and apple will tell you before it ever changes.

comments and sharing. if you share a home, the people you invite can read what you write. do not post anything unlawful, abusive or hateful. the owner of a home can remove anyone from it, and anyone can leave. if something is wrong, tell us.

your home and emergencies. the home pages of the app are a place for your own records: your utilities, where things are, and who to call. we do not give safety advice. in an emergency, call the emergency services first. the provider numbers we suggest, the national numbers and the links to official advice are checked when we add them, but they can change, so check anything important with the provider. what to do is for you, the emergency services and the official advice we link to.

app stores. if you got an app from apple, apple’s own terms apply to that purchase as well as these, and apple - not us - handles refunds.

changes. if we change these terms we will change this page, and the change applies from the day it appears here.

the law that applies. these terms are governed by the laws of nova scotia and the federal laws of canada that apply there, and the courts of nova scotia.

if any of this is unclear, ask us. that's it. no smallprint.
