privacy policy

at smallthing, we try to be squeaky-clean on privacy in spirit, word and deed.

the short version. we do not sell or share your data, we do not track you, we do not advertise to you, and we do not use your data to train machine learning models. we will only email you with your permission or as a response (ask and we will delete).

where your data lives. your homes, lists, purchases and anything you share with your household are kept in your own iCloud account, using apple’s cloudkit. smallthing software limited cannot read them. you sign in with apple: the name and email apple gives the app stay in your iCloud, and we never see your password.

what does reach us. three things, and only these:

we keep feedback only as long as we need it to act on it.

subscriptions. apple takes payment. we never see your card details; the app only asks apple whether your subscription is active.

deleting your data. everything the app keeps is in your iCloud. in the app, settings → delete my data deletes all of it, from every device. (deleting the app is not enough: your iCloud copy stays, and comes back if you install it again.) deleting your data does not cancel a subscription - do that in settings → your name → subscriptions. to have feedback you sent with your name removed, ask us.

your rights. you can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the information commissioner’s office in the uk, or the office of the privacy commissioner of canada.

no cookies, no trackers. this site and the app do not use tracking cookies or analytics tools that identify you. if anything we do _does_ use or appear to use cookies, trackers or what-have-you then we have done so inadvertently - please let us know and we will investigate.

who we are. smallthing software limited. if you have questions, you can reach us through our contact form.

that’s it. no smallprint.
